This painting was made for The Lion Project. It was auctioned at their annual gala with the proceeds benefitting mental health non-profits in Denver.
Here, I experimented with Neon paints on the side of a hiking trail in Boulder, Colorado. This was my first time painting in Plein Air, and chose to zoom in on this dead tree that was being lit up by the sun.
These were painted from a picture I took on top of the continental divide in Aspen, Colorado. It was shown at Children’s Hospital Colorado at the Team Member Art Show.
This piece was a study of one of Thomas Kinkade’s pieces. His work was accessible, I saw it often around family and friend’s homes growing up. I liked the way his scenery seemed to glow.
This piece was part of a watercolor study on paper. I used flowers from a friend’s garden.
I made this piece as a wedding gift for friends who got engaged at Maroon Bells. It is one of the most photographed places in Colorado for its captivating reflection at sunrise.
I painted ‘A Day To Remember’ my senior year of high school in an independent study. I have always had this perseveration with lasting love, and when I saw this old couple in a National Geographic, I had to paint them. It was my first painting on canvas and I focused on experimenting with textures and techniques. It won first place and best in show at The Young Master’s Art Exhibit. It was also selected for the Pomona Purchase award and hangs at my high school. That year I was voted “Most Likely to Have a Piece of Art in The Louvre” as a senior superlative.
Ink on Paper. Since living in Hawaii, and seeing all the dead coral, it is something I’d really like to spread awareness about with my art. Coral bleaches these neon colors before it dies, as if it is trying to get someone to notice that it is sick. I personified it here, trying to communicate its importance with a scuba diver.
With this piece I blended two pictures that I took on a hike in Maroon Bells along the trail to crater lake. I used a more vivid palette to commemorate how unreal it looked in the moment, I felt like I had walked into a desktop screen-saver.
